I’ve been there before, with an idea in mind and wanting to create a business but having no clue where to even start.  Back in 2020 when I started this business, I spent a long time doing the research, asking friends for advice and looking at other small businesses trying to guess what tools they were using to keep their business running that smoothly. 

It’s taken a lot of trial and error, but I’ve found what works for me now. Use this page to get the info on all the tools I use on a day to day!

The one tool that keeps my whole life together. I use this for EVERYTHING, from writing goals, to-do lists, project planning, collaborating with clients… the list goes on. The best part? It’s free!

Where I get all my WordPress website themes, I use the Emily Grace one 

My absolute favourite tool for IG planning and scheduling! I love Planoly because of how easy it is to drag and rearrange images to visualise how it would look on the grid.

I’ve used a few email marketing services and this is by far my fav. Not only do they provide awesome support, the whole interface is so easy to use and emails designed on AC look slick and professional.

A brilliant (free) desktop app I use resize or edit any images. I use this a lot especially when building websites and have to convert web friendly images.

My go-to for creating beautiful checkout pages for all my products! They’re highly customisable and offer amazing capabilities for upsells and building sales funnels.

What would I do without Canva Pro?! I design and create just about anything on here, freebies, client welcome kits, social media graphics, marketing collaterals… the list goes on! Canva Pro is worth every cent.

The only website host you need to look into. I’ve hosted close to 20 websites on Siteground now and not only is the interface extremely easy to use, the customer service is top notch

A friend and I had this routine every Friday where we would text each other our ✨win✨ for the week so we could cheer each other on.​​​​​​​​ ​​​​​​​​ She would share something that was actually really important to her, then follow it up with "but that's not really a win" as if she was embarrassed to feel good about it. ​​​​​​​​ ​​​​​​​​ It's common to only see people celebrating huge milestones - engagements, new babies, hitting 6-figures, buying a new home, that all the small wins that add up to the bigger goal feel like nothing.​​​​​​​​ ​​​​​​​​ I've learnt to celebrate any wins big or small in the past couple of years. If it made me feel good, if it brought me closer to my personal or business goals, it's a win. It's helped me deal with any setbacks and focus on the overall progress that I'm making.​​​​​​​​ ​​​​​​​​ Even if I haven't hit my $ goal in a month, I know I've still had a epic month and am already 10 steps closer to the bigger picture 🥰

This month’s “win” looks a little different ☁️🕊️🌿 ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ It comes from the huge loss of my fur baby and best friend, Minky 🥹 ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ I’ve had a few weeks to process it and I’m in a good place now to reflect and share. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ I was a mess in the first week. I couldn’t sleep and was ugly crying everyday. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ But one thing I noticed was that I had learnt to ride the emotional waves instead of drowning in them. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Every pet parent dreads the day their fur baby crosses the rainbow bridge, and there was a part of me that worried about it because I didn’t know if I could cope 😅 Out of all the challenges thrown at me in the past year, I thought this would be the one to break me. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ However it was those tests that slowly built me up. Despite the devastation of her passing, internally I felt stronger than ever. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ I let go of showing up on IG to give myself space, but client work and the rest of the business still ran as usual behind the scenes. I gave myself plenty of time to grieve, before picking myself back up again. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ I have a post-it reminder on my laptop that says “do it for minky”. It reminds me to keep going and remember my bigger purpose. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Minky may not be on earth anymore but I know she’s still looking down on me and making sure I keep my head up so I can continue to help other rescue doggies 🥹❤️

If you were following me from before, you’ll know that I’m a self-proclaimed lazy content creator 😅 I don’t believe in having to post everyday and would usually try to aim for 3 times a week. So to do this everyday is a BIG DEAL 😜 I have so much to teach from this experience and will continue to experiment and share my learnings. I feel like the aesthetic of my profile often gives people the idea that I’m so put together, but that could not be further from the truth I’m absolutely unhinged at times 🤣 Aside from the goals above, there were plenty of other highs and lows in July. For example after I got busy, the first thing to be affected was my workout consistency and diet. I don’t stick to a strict routine but scoffing trays of sugary biscuits everyday really isn’t ideal is it 💀 Anyway I’m just out here being a human and doing the best I can, and I hope this post serves as a reminder of that for you too 🤎
